The Story So Far + Basement is a show you don't want to miss
by Alessandra Arias
When I was 15, I was an angsty teenager with an aversion to pop music who had recently discovered The Story So Far. They had just released their debut album, Under Soil and Dirt and my 15 year old ears hadn't heard anything like it before. It was angry and melodic, but upbeat and catchy at the same time.
The album soon became my go-to soundtrack for the entirety of Year 10. I played in a band at the time and we even covered their track Daughters during multiple live shows. The Story So Far is a band that reminds me of my high school days and playing in a band.
So, as you can imagine, my teenage self was revived when The Story So Far announced their co-headline Aussie tour with Basement earlier this year. They're an extremely tight live band and the audience always respond so energetically.
Fresh off the release of their fourth album, Proper Dose, The Story So Far will be dominating stages all across Australia. Joining them is English band Basement, who also released their killer fourth album, Beside Myself, in October last year.
You will 100% catch me at the Sydney leg of the show singing along (very loudly) to the entirety of What You Don't See.
